A wonderful time was had by all attendees.

In brief:

  •  The weather was superb.

  • The travels to and fro were enjoyable without any major incident.

  • The painting times were successful.  Hopefully everyone will share their creations with us all, either today or later.

  • We found the town of Glenwood Springs very friendly.  This included the Caravan Inn (where we all stayed), the local merchants and the towns people.

  • Besides painting there were a number of other activities.  Some of us went to Cooper Corner Gallery (run by the local artist guild), a few popped in at Art on 8th Gallery to watch some local artisans weaving their stunning table runners, placemats and wall hangings, and many of us spent a few hours in either of the two commercial hot springs pools or the hot tub at the Caravan Inn motel.  Of course, the historic cemetery overlooking GWS was hiked by a few hearty souls.

  • Delightfully, we had non-members join in with us.  A few members brought their husbands or significant others and even one granddaughter joined in.  We are very open to having family and friends join in the fun.

  • Last, but not least, we ate.  We, the Paint Box Guild members, love to eat and GWS has many delicious restaurants to satisfy us.  A few went to Juicy Lucy’s by the train station, others ate at the 19th Street Diner, while still others went to Slow Groovin’ BBQ in the town of Marble while on a day excursion.  But we all dined together at Rivers Restaurant on the Roaring Fork River on Wednesday evening.  The dinner was terrific.

All in all, we had a fun time and would encourage everyone to join us in September next year.
